Microsoft is joining the party with Project xCloud, a platform that will ultimately allow you to play Xbox games remotely from Microsoft’s servers or your own Xbox console. It’s still in its early stages, but we got access to see how it’s shaping up.
Early Stages
Currently, Project xCloud is limited to mobile device access through an Android or iOS app. This means that, unlike Google Stadia, Nvidia GeForce Now, Shadow, or even PlayStation Now, you can’t access xCloud on your PC. Windows support is planned for some time this year. Additionally, you need an Xbox Wireless Controller to use the service, though support for third-party Bluetooth controllers including the DualShock 4 is also planned for later this year.
